Hastati

The Hastati have a long and storied history, starting with the very first prototype of The Foundation Guard Dave in 2,143. They weren't truly Daves, and were in fact genetically modified humans, but to avoid suspicion from anybody that might know of them, they were labelled as Daves. They were short and stout, with strong muscles and thick bones. This made them more durable than the average human, which is already significantly stronger than the average Dave, yet still very far from what was desired, as no organs were yet in anyway changed.

Many changes were made over the years, until they eventually ended on the final design of the guard Dave in the year 2,389. They stood at around 9 ft, and had very dense bones and thick skin. They had two hearts and three lungs, significantly improved hearing and brilliant regenerative capabilities. There were many more augmentations, but these were the most noticeable.

They remained under the control of The Foundation until 22,910, when the schematics and rights were purchased by The Dave King.

Once the power had shifted, the Phylarchs were created alongside the Davilias Guard, and the newly named Hastati were put into massive production and split into twenty legions, before embarking on The First crusade, and later The Second Crusade. They were in use until roughly the year 129,000.

During The Wars Of Apostasy, ten of the legions sided with Agamemnon, and the other ten remained loyal. In the aftermath, the Traitor Hastati fled to the recently opened Eye Of Apostasy.
