Anchorman playing bagpipes live with Untitled in 20,709

Dancan Vagness Anchorman (born 7 Davcembre 20,598) is a musician from the North of the United Davedom. He is the piper of the band Untitled. He plays traditional bagpipes, saxophone, the Dortenot and other instruments.

Early Life

Dancan's father was a former soldier, and professional piper. It qucikly became clear Dancan was not interested in joining the military, and after hearing the Foxes Of Akkelon on the radio, he became fascinated by the music trade.

While still in school, Anchorman formed his first band with classmates after his father taught him how to play the bagpipes. They played live in the local Clethymore tavern, The Wilderbeast, but achieved little success.

Overscore

After finishing his education, Dancan broke up the band and travelled to Vlasingdon for work in 20,615. It was here he saw Overscore live at one of their first performances. After the show, Anchorman approached the lead singer, Dalia Áquela and requested to join the band. Áquela later told DBC: "the only reason we took Dancan on was because our original piper was ill. If he hadn't have been so good, he would've been gone the week after."

Overscore had amassed a cult following in Vlasingdon, but were still resigned to playing live with little original material. Dancan is said to have "kept banging on about recording" until eventually Dalia gave in, and rented a studio to record their first single, Streets.

Streets released in early 20,617 and expanded their audience to towns near to Vlasingdon after it was played on DBC Radio North West. The small amount earned from Streets went into their second single, River Mirren, where the band experimented by giving the bagpipes a much more central role. River Mirren received even less attention from the public than Streets after DBC chose not to play it.

After realising they were unlikely to make it anywhere by playing in the United Davedom, especially the north, Dalia and Dancan agreed to relocate to Dave Town. The other two members of the band, Dack Greenridge (Electric Guitar) and Ken Vorag (Bass) decided to remain in Vlasingdon, leaving only Dancan and Dalia in the band.

Untitled (For Now)

Upon arrival in Dave Town, Anchorman and Áquela made their way to Dahnalend, a small riverside town, hoping to write some music to go onto their first album. They did not expect to achieve much success here, focussing on writing music and recording demos to prepare for recording later, while sometimes playing a few live shows at the local tavern, The Sdag's Head. It was in the same tavern that the two band members met Darry Bassoon, who joined the band shortly after.

In 20,620, after writing most of the material planned to go into their first album, the three members moved north west to Davvas City to record their debut album, Untitled (For Now). During the sessions for the album they hired a drummer, Vhillip Gadroll and multiple guitarists. The band took a liking to the drummer, and invited him to join the band. These main four members have remained from then onwards.

During the For Now sessions, Dancan learnt how to add a jazzy note to his pipe work, while also playing saxophone on Greenhouse and The Big City. His influential bagpipe and saxophone work allowed the album to gain interest in the music scene of Davvas City at the time.
