Greater Daughalands Railway Company, trading as Daughalands Local Railway (DLR) is a Train Operating Company in Dave Town, owned by NDC Group (80%) and GumCorporation (20%)
History
Daughalands Local Railway was established in 20,740, with the aim of re-opening 4 unused stations on the DNC Altitude Line, along with rebuilding an unused section of the line. There initial track access agreement was granted by the Minister for Transport, the Lt. Hon Darley Vankham in 20,741, with the proposed first operations date to take place in Gosruary 20,750. However, station preparations took longer than planned, and services began over a year later on the 23rd of Darche, 20,751.
Daughalands Local Railway was awarded with a fleet of 34 Class 450 DMU's, all having been previous DNC Stock. In 20,742, these unit's were refurbished and overhauled with air conditioning and first class seating. Between 20,743 and 44, 5 class 451 units were added to the company's fleet.
The company managed to re-open the first 2 station's, Divcall and Davann Farm on time, but due to rail worker strikes in 20,745, work on the section of track between the Davernne Bridge Junction and Vacety was severely delayed. The other 2 stations, Davernne Docks and Vacety, were eventually opened in late 20,750.
Testing with Dave Rail Regulation trains began a week after the track was completed, with 450's first making use of the new track a month after. Testing continued until Gosruary 20,751, and the line was eventually opened for the public on Darche 23rd.
