The UD, located on the continent of Davoupe, lies north of Drance, separated by the Davedom Channel. Its capital and largest city is Davdon.
History
The United Davedom is comprised of the five former countries of Dælųnd, Dænglųnd, Dælßę, Dötĕlųnd and Dæįßlųnđ. It was formed in 2952 after the Great Davoupean War.
The UD is usually thought of as being two countries, separated between the north and south divide. In modern day, the North of the UD seems to be somewhat stuck in the past, lacking a lot of technology that is common in households and businesses of the south. The south is also much more densely populated- excluding the south west. There is an average of a 10 mile distance between most villages/towns in the north.
Most consider the capital of the north to be the historical industry city of Vlasingdon, nestled inbetween the Dvarragas Mountain Range and home to the largest railway station in Davoupe.
The south of the UD has rapidly grown from a rural sparsely populated area into a region dominated by large industrial towns, modernised transport links and expanding coastal cities. Since the late 19,000s, this has led to a steadily increasing cultural, economic and political divide between the Northern UD and Southern UD, often referred to as “The Davedom Divide.”
The south continues to receive considerable internal investment from both the UD and Davada, while the north has, comparatively, been left behind. This has resulted in a strong sense of local identity in the northern counties, where many continue to observe older traditions, maintain smaller local councils, and rely heavily on outdated infrastructure.
