Daint Dakholas (Saint Dakholas, Daint Dahklas, Daint Dacklaus, or Santa Claws, depending on region) is a prominent figure in Daerthian folklore.

The myth is though to have originated in Davaramony with a Dave who was likely real, named Davakh Dacklaus, who was documented as being a teacher and a well-versed man of religion, although which one is heavily debated.

He was documented as an old man who would visit daves known to be greedy or cold-hearted and imbue them with a new lustre for life. Many of these tales have been exaggerated over time, however historians have been able to recover a handful of the original accounts, such as the story of Old Man Davenkrank.

After his death, Davakh Dacklaus' legacy was well known through western Davoupe; passing through Drance as Saint Dakholas, Dvaen as Daint Dahklas, The UD as Daint Dakholas and the Davinavian nation's as multiple different incarnations. At this time, the stories of his teachings were exacerbated to the point of legend, as can be seen in the many retellings of Davrus' sad end.

The Davoupians brought his legend with them to DAVE TOWN, where it mingled with the pre-existing culture, eventually emerging as Santa Claws — a dave who brings letters to sinful daves, warning them to improve, lest he utilise his dreadful talons. Several murders have been committed in accordance with such a tale in recent centuries, though whether they were truly Santa Claws, or deranged pretenders is yet to be decided.

During Dave Town's colonisation of The Davelands, Santa Claws became a household name, even amongst the Mesodavian natives of the time.

Historians believe it likely that Davakh Dacklaus was also likely the basis of the Destran myth of Yuulgashlav.

The Pantheon is the group of the four major gods in the IDE Eras. Each represents their own respective aspect of existence. War, Famine, Depravity, and finally, Death. They have existed for long before any living being can remember, and shall probably exist for much longer than we would like. Enclosed at the bottom of the article is a link to a list of the minor deities born of The Sea Of Souls.

War
War is an angry and bloodthirsty god. His followers and daemons reflect this in their dedication to the warm spurt of blood that follows the swift stroke of a sword or the brutal swing of an axe.

Famine
Depravity
Depravity stepped up to the pantheon when disease retired due to the discovery of penicillin. Their followers are constantly chasing highs they can never reach, or gorging themselves on food that can never quite fill them, or perhaps fills them too much; anything to fulfill their lust for more. Their daemons are the embodiment of temptation, enticing and beckoning upon first glance, yet lithe and swift enough to never quite be caught.

Death
Death has existed since the first living thing first emerged from the primordial soup, if not longer. He is as constant as life is persistent, as endless as existence is cruel. He is everywhere and unavoidable.
